We breed for personality and health. Our ragdolls are accustomed to bathing, brushing, and rough and tumble with toddlers and young children. Many of our kittens have learned to fetch and will play with “soft paws”. They are an extremely loving and docile breed, and are best kept indoors, or indoor/outdoor with close supervision.
Front Porch Ragdolls are cared for by the good people at Sierra Veterinary Care in Sonora, CA. Both Sire and Dam are fully vaccinated and have tested negative for FIV FeLV. All Front Porch Ragdolls have been tested for Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) by U.C. Davis Veterinary Labs. HCM is estimated to afflict 30% of purebred ragdolls and can lead to severe heart illness and death. For this reason, it is very important to test both sire and dam for this mutation and eliminate it from cattery bloodlines. If your breeder cannot show proof of HCM negative genetics, do not assume kittens are healthy. HCM symptoms often do not appear until the second or third year. All kittens have received flea treatment. Due to side effects and complications, we no longer vaccinate young kittens before rehoming. It is best to pursue your preferred vaccination schedule with your vet.
